OAKWOOD CHAPEL
Madison, WI
Addition and Remodel
The inadequacy of the former worship space at Oakwood Village suggested capital improvements that would provide new worship and administrative spaces. The new project involved the demolition of an outdated office structure attached to the north wing of the existing nursing home.
In its place, a 12,000 square foot, three-story structure provides administrative, worship and meeting spaces with a distinctive sanctuary accommodating a maximum capacity of 134. The selected materials and construction are intended to be sympathetic to the adjacent structure, while the curved geometry and symbolic appointments address the special nature of the program.
