New Facility The 8th and State Street Parking Ramp is a seven-level, 850 automobile parking facility in the downtown area of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The post-tensioned structure incorporated a retail and commercial space at the ground level facing state Street, an important traffic corridor in the city.

The solution utilized a staggered, one-way tray vehicle parking parking plan with
pedestrian stairs and elevators located in each corner to facilitate easy
movement. The staggered ramp configuration allows for quick down loading
of exiting vehicles. The stairs and elevators were glass enclosed at the corners to minimize
vandalism and assure pedestrian safe passage.
The glass enclosed elevator core at the corner of 8th and State was designed to allow the later addition of skywalks across 8th and State Street, respectively. |
